Postmodernism

Post-Modernism
Post-Modernism is difficult to define. It is known as post-modern art or contemporary art, it literally means ‘after modernism’. Post-Modernism was first seen in architecture around the 1970’s, it settled out to reject the modernist avant-garde, form, function and formalism while embracing a new approach of style and design.

Post-Modernism is the art movement that widely departs and ultimately evolved from modern art. The term itself has applied itself to literature, art, philosophy, architecture, fiction, and among others. Post-Modernism is widely driven by the idea of scientific discovery, in an effort to explain reality, they believed in scientific laws of reasons and rational thoughts. Post-Modernist are highly sceptical of explanations which claims to be valid for all groups, cultures, traditions, or races, and instead focuses on the relative truths of each person. In the mind of post-modernist understanding is important; reality only comes into being through our interpretations of what the world means to us individually as a person.
