Peter Lanyon is an artist from Cornwall. Most of his work is abstract expressionist paintings of Cornish landscapes. What I love about some of his work is how he combines different angles of landscapes in one painting. He took up hand gliding as a completely new way of viewing the landscapes that he loved so much. And you can see that in his later paintings like "Solo Flight" you see the ground below the clouds. Unfortunately it was a hand gliding accident that ended his life at the age of 46.
